On the 12th, the final performance of ‘Na Hoon-ah 2024 Thank You – Last Concert Seoul’ was held at KSPO Dome (former Olympic Gymnastics Stadium) in Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

After debuting with ‘My Love’ in 1968, Na Hoon-ah received a lot of love for songs such as ‘Love’, ‘Why Are You Crying’, ‘Weeds’, ‘Mushiro’, ‘Hometown Station’, ‘Hongsi’, and ‘Broken Wall Clock’. He worked on more than 800 songs, of which more than 100 were hits, and was a legend among legends in the music industry, even nicknamed ‘Vulcane.’

It was in February of last year that he announced his intention to retire. At that time, he hinted at retirement in a handwritten letter, saying that he would follow the saying, ‘Leave while applause’ is being said. Afterwards, Na Hoon-ah, who performed in Incheon in April of last year and went on a retirement concert tour across the country, announced the news of the Seoul concert in October of last year and said, “It is difficult to guess what it will be like and how it will feel on the last stage as it is my first time, but it is as exciting as always. “I am filled with the desire to do well,” he said, making his retirement official.

From the 10th to the 12th, Na Hoon-ah held the Seoul Concert, the last schedule of her retirement concert, at the KSPO Dome and met a total of 70,000 spectators. With this performance, Na Hoon-ah marked the end of her 57-year career in the music industry.

During the second day of the Seoul concert held on the 11th, Na Hoon-ah expressed her feelings about retirement, saying to fans, “I will do well today, I must do well,” and “Because this is the last time I will meet you today on this stage.”

Also, regarding retirement, he said, “I can’t do it because I said it once,” and “Once a man says it, it’s over.”

In this performance, Na Hoon-a summarized the 57 years she has walked through her hit songs. In particular, Na Hoon-ah displayed the faces of former President Park Chung-hee to President Yoon Seok-yeol on the electronic display board and looked back on the past years, saying, “Eleven presidents have changed, but I am still continuing.”

During her 57 years in the music industry, what symbolized Na Hoon-ah were ‘wildness’ and ‘charisma.’ In particular, Na Hoon-ah has always received a lot of attention due to her mysticism in refraining from exposure on TV and the media as much as possible. In 2008, he held a press conference to refute various rumors surrounding himself and made a rare incident by saying, “I will pull down my pants and show you for 5 minutes, or would you believe it?”

Na Hoon-ah also criticized the political world during this retirement performance.

Na Hoon-ah said, “We live in a strange world these days,” and “People on this side say to the other side, ‘Then did you do a good job?'” he said, talking about the political world. He continued, “I want to ask those who are currently in politics, ‘Are you really doing politics for the country and the people?’” He then said to the audience, “Everyone, you must use the cane, and you must hide it, and not show who you are going to hit. That way, you will not make fun of the people.”

Referring to the impeachment situation, he said, “Now is not the time to fight, but a time to strengthen our national defense.” He added, “Soldiers being captured were broadcast live, and being a soldier is a drag. How can you entrust national defense to someone like that?”

Even at the end of her 57-year career as a singer, Na Hoon-ah was, as always, the ‘vulcanized Na Hoon-ah’, heavily armed with ‘unconventional’ and ‘wildness’.
