Rep. Na Kyung-won, a candidate for the People Power Party leadership, is giving a speech at the Haeundae District Party Member Council office in Busan on the afternoon of the 1st. 2024.7.1 News 1

Na Kyung-won, a candidate running in the People Power Party leadership election, criticized candidate Han Dong-hoon’s claim to propose a special prosecutor’s bill for Marines, saying, “I want to say that he is saying such things because he has no experience in the National Assembly, and that he is naive.”

Rep. Na appeared on BBS Radio’s Ham In-kyung’s Morning Journal on the 4th and said, “It’s obvious that the special prosecutor’s law is intended for political strife, and it doesn’t actually help uncover the truth or provide relief to the victims. Talking about amending the special prosecutor’s law is populism.”

He then said, “Rep. Joo Jin-woo clearly summarized the filibuster, but I would like to ask whether you still think it is right to propose a revision to the Special Prosecutor’s Act after hearing the discussion.”

On the 3rd, Rep. Joo argued against the Marine Corps Special Prosecutor Act filibuster for 5 hours and 13 minutes. In particular, he emphasized the issue of fairness in the investigation.

Regarding the opinion polls on the leading candidates, he said, “Opinion polls and party leadership polls have not been the same since the past,” and “When I was competing with Representative Lee Jun-seok, the ‘Lee Jun-seok wind’ blew very strongly, but when I opened the lid, I won the party member vote.”

He added, “Party members seem to think twice or thrice,” and “The upcoming candidate debates and joint speeches will be extremely important as they think about which person will ultimately help our party.”
