The head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina regrets the unsuccessful statement of her first deputy Sergei Shvetsov on the issue of supporting pensioners. Mr. Shvetsov said that Russians need to be helped to retire with a good pension package, which, first of all, must be formed by themselves during their active life.

“I regret the extremely unfortunate wording of my deputy on the issue of supporting pensioners. Most of those who have already retired or are leaving now did not have the opportunity to make savings for old age, “Ms Nabiullina told reporters (quoted by Prime). She noted that one of the priorities of the state is to provide a decent pension for everyone.

Mr. Shvetsov also said that Russians today have many options for self-accumulation – through pension funds, insurance companies, securities or real estate.

“The Bank of Russia, for its part, is working on the development of non-state pension funds in order to enable future pensioners to form long-term savings, and on increasing the stability of the financial system, so that people can receive income from those savings in bank accounts, investment accounts that they have. without worrying about the safety of funds, ”said the head of the Bank of Russia. At the same time, Elvira Nabiullina called these efforts an addition to the state pension system.

In the summer it was reported that the Ministry of Finance proposed to change the calculation of insurance premiums for salaries over 1.46 million rubles. in year. Now the employer pays 22% of the employee’s salary to the Pension Fund of Russia if his salary is below 1.46 million rubles. per year (about 122 thousand rubles per month). If this amount is exceeded, the rate is reduced to 10%. According to media reports, the authorities want to raise the salary threshold to reduce the rate of insurance premiums. This measure can bring 16 billion rubles. in 2022, and by 2024 – 45 billion rubles.
