Discussions also focused on the Wesak Devotional Song Festival, Tansal, Wesak Decorative Nest Competition, Environmental Protection Events, Special Religious Events, Cultural Events and the Improvement of Temples, Moral Schools and Privenas on the occasion of the Royal Wesak Festival.

The Prime Minister said that this time the focus would be on organizing Wesak events in major cities, including Colombo, ahead of the state Wesak celebrations.

The Prime Minister paid special attention to the development of infrastructure facilities in the Balangoda and Kaltota areas adjacent to the Kuragala sacred site and advised the authorities to take action in consultation with the concerned departments.

This time we as the government will take all the necessary steps to hold the Wesak Festival in consultation with the health department. The Environmental Protection Program is not just about distributing saplings in particular. The Prime Minister has also instructed to look into whether the saplings are being properly protected.
