/ The management of Najaf Sports Club categorically denied, on Tuesday, its intention to abandon its current football team coach, the Egyptian Hamza El-Gamal, while promising that it would strengthen the team’s ranks with players in the upcoming winter transfer period.
Ali Hashem, a member of the club’s management, told Agency, “The administration did not approach coach Qahtan Jatheer to lead the Badia gazelles, and what was reported by the media in this regard is baseless, despite our pride in coach Qahtan Jatheer.”
He stressed that “the club’s management is committed to Al-Jamal’s services for driving the gazelles, as it works with high efficiency and professionalism, and we will continue to support it with its assistant staff and players to improve their results in the upcoming rounds.”
He explained, “The club suffered from circumstances beyond its control that prevented it from recruiting comfortably, but we will strengthen the team’s ranks during the winter transfer period because the administration did not find enough time to form an integrated team according to its decree for known reasons, the most important of which are the lack of time and the delay in the arrival of funds before the start of the league.”
Hashem pointed out that “any team that suffers a loss is normal, and this does not mean that the coach is relieved of his task,” adding, “The administrative body unanimously confirmed that no amounts would be deducted from the team’s dues due to the negative results in the five matches that the team played.”
He stated that “the opportunity is good for compensation, as we are not far behind the leading teams and our league often has rocky beginnings, and we hope that what comes next will be better in achieving results.”
After the end of the fifth round of the professional league, the Najaf team occupies 16th place after collecting five points.
