The Danish company Kapella Wind Energy intends to build a wind power plant in Nakhchivan.
As Day.Az reports, the head of the press service of the State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic told Trend about this. Metin Abbasli.
He noted that relevant meetings were held in this regard.
“The technical and economic indicators of this project are currently being studied,” Abbasly said.
It should be noted that in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic there are 5 hydro, 3 solar, 1 wind and 1 hybrid power plants. In September 2024 alone, 35 percent of the total electricity produced came from alternative and renewable energy sources. Compared to 9 months of last year, the share of electricity produced from alternative and renewable energy sources increased by almost 20 percent. Thus, if in the nine months of 2023 the share of green energy production was 35.1 percent, then for the corresponding period in 2024 this figure increased to 53 percent. Currently, 55 percent of all electricity comes from green energy.
