The signing of the MoU was carried out by the Main Director of NGI Heru Dharmadi Wijaya, Chairman of YTI Ruswandi, and General Chairman of Nderek Guru Aditya Yusma.
The collaboration aims to increase public awareness of the importance of early screening and efforts to prevent thalassemia in Indonesia.
As a first step, NGI, YTI, and Ndaru will organize a free thalassemia genetic screening program for YTI and Ndaru members, and is open to the general public.
This initiative is part of NGI’s commitment to support government programs in early prevention of thalassemia in the country.
President Director of PT Naleya Genomics Indonesia Heru Dharmadi Wijaya said that the thalassemia testing service from NGI, NALEYA-THALASEQ, is the first and only new innovation in Indonesia, which is capable of detecting more than 500 genetic mutations related to thalassemia using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology. .
“The entire test process from testing to bioinformatics analysis is carried out locally at the NGI laboratory in Indonesia to ensure more accurate, fast and safe results,” he said in a press release, Friday (4/10).
