Devotees pulling a toad with a rope on Saturday for the Namakkal Narasimha Swamy Temple festival.

Namakkal Narasimha Swamy Temple Festival was held on Saturday. A large number of devotees participated and grabbed the rope and pulled the toad.

The famous Narasimha, Anjaneya and Aranganatha temples are located in the heart of Namakkal city. Here every year the election is held on the day following the Panguni order. Accordingly, the event kicked off with the flag hoisting on the 11th of last month. Every day at Swami Pallak, street strolling performances were held in vehicles. The main event of the 15-day festival, the Tirukkalyana, was held on Thursday night at the Namagiri Mother’s Hall in Kulakkara.

Following this, Narasimha Swami Sridevi, Bhudevi Samedarai Thirutheril Valam Varum Thottiruvila was held on Saturday at 9 am. Namakkal District Governor Shreya P. Singh, Member of the State Council KON Rajeshkumar, Namakkal Municipal Chairman Dr. Bhupathi, Deputy Chief Minister K. M. Sudha, Assistant Commissioner of the Treasury Janshirani and various government officials were present to grab the toad rope and launch it.

Govinda … The devotees who had gathered there chanting ‘Govinda’ were dragged through the fort road, Anjaneya junction. At 11.30 am, Tho arrived at its destination. In connection with the Thoth festival, the Ne Mo Band was opened in the Namakkal urban areas and a cool Mo was distributed to the devotees and the public. Also, alms were given to the devotees. The Anjaneya Swami Therottam was held at 4.30 pm. The Aranganatha temple is in a state of disrepair and is being renovated. Thus the festival did not take place during the event.
