N Chandrasekaran (age 58) from Namakkal, Tamil Nadu has been appointed as the Chairman of Tata Sons Group for the 2nd time for the next 5 years.
Nadarajan Chandrasekaran from Tamil Nadu was appointed as the new Chairman of the Tata Sons Group in 2016 following the removal of Cyrus Mistry as the Chairman of the Tata Sons Group in 2012.
Born in Mohanur in 1963, Chandrasekaran walked 3 km daily during his school days and studied Tamil Pathology. After that Trichy R.E.C. He graduated from the College of Engineering. Chandrasekaran joined TCS in 1987 while in his final year of college. He was instrumental in the development of TCS for nearly 30 years.
Then in 2016 N. Chandrasekaran was appointed as the Chairman of Tata Sons Group and served well. Over the past 5 years the Tata Sons Group has grown well in various segments and it was reported that all the Board Managers were satisfied with Chandrasekaran’s management skills. In this context, at today’s Tata Sons board meeting, Chandrasekaran was elected for the second time as the Chairman of Tata Sons with a market value of over Rs 10 lakh crore.
Ratan N Tata, President of the company was the special invitee to attend the meeting. Ratan Tata expressed satisfaction over the way Tata Sons, led by Chandrasekaran, operates and manages.
In this situation, all the members of the Tata Sons Group are chaired by N. He was elected for the next 5 years for the 2nd time as he unanimously supported the re-appointment of Chandrasekhar as President.
In a statement, Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons Group, said, “I am delighted that all the members unanimously elected me for the 2nd time to lead the Tata Sons Group for the next 5 years. They have already given me the greatest opportunity and pride to lead for 5 years, ”he said.
