Namyangju City (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on teh 11th that it will further accelerate the promotion of the new building construction project to realize the goal of completion in December 2031.
In the second half of next year, when the currently ongoing ‘feasibility study and basic plan service’ is completed,a basic plan including construction scale and method will be established, and administrative procedures such as feasibility study review and investment review through the Local Investment Analysis Center (LOMAC) will begin. It is planned.
The city completed the purchase of buildings 5 and 6,the site of the Dasan New Town public building,in 2022 and has been raising more than 20 billion won in new building construction funds every year since 2021. To date, approximately 85.6 billion won has been raised, and the amount is expected to reach 110 billion won in the second half of next year.
the geumgok-dong government building currently in use is the Migeum City government building from the time of the merger of Namyangju-gun and Migeum city in 1995. In the meantime, Namyangju City has grown into a large city with a population of 740,000, and is expected to become a megacity with a population of 1 million by 2035.
In order to respond to increasingly diverse and increasing administrative demands and to prepare for the upcoming elevation to a special city, a suitable new office building is desperately needed. In addition, Geumgok-dong, where the government office is currently located, has limitations in terms of expansion due to designation as a development restriction zone and cultural heritage protection zone.
Therefore, the city decided to build a new office building in Dasan-dong, the site of the second building, as stipulated in the administrative organization establishment ordinance at the time of integration, and preparations are being made step by step. Currently, several administrative agencies are gathered hear, and it is expected that the construction of a new office will further increase the convenience of many residents in using administrative services.
Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok said, “As the construction of the new building is a 100-year plan for the future of Namyangju and its citizens, we will focus on continuous communication and collecting opinions from all walks of life.” He added, “Through the new building promotion committee, we will draw up a blueprint for the construction direction and spatial composition together. “We will focus our administrative power to create a futuristic government building that reflects the characteristics of Namyangju,” he said.
Mayor Joo than said, “We will push for the formation of a Geumgok-dong residents’ council to prevent the phenomenon of hollowing out in Geumgok-dong due to the relocation of the government building.” He added, “The opinions collected through this will be actively reflected in the current geumgok-dong government building utilization plan and minimize the impact on the Geumgok-dong community.” He emphasized, “We will also come up with practical measures to revitalize the commercial district.”
Meanwhile, the city has formed and is running a new building construction task force headed by the vice mayor.

What are the main challenges facing the implementation of quantum computing technology today?
Title: Unlocking the Future: A Conversation on Time and Technology
Interviewee: Dr. Clara Holt, Quantum Computing Expert
Interviewer: Alex Perez, Editor of Time.news
Alex Perez: Welcome, Dr. Holt! It’s a pleasure to have you here with us today.
Dr. Clara Holt: Thank you, Alex! I’m excited to be here and discuss the captivating world of quantum computing.
Alex Perez: Let’s dive right in. Quantum technology seems to be one of the most talked-about advancements lately. Can you give us a brief overview of what quantum computing actually is?
Dr. Clara Holt: Absolutely! At its core, quantum computing is a revolutionary approach to processing information. Unlike classical computers that use bits—representing either a 0 or a 1—quantum computers use quantum bits or qubits. This allows them to be in multiple states at once, thanks to principles of quantum superposition and entanglement. This can dramatically increase computational power.
Alex perez: That’s an intriguing concept. Can you explain why this is crucial in today’s world? what potential does quantum computing hold?
Dr. Clara Holt: The potential is immense! Quantum computing could solve complex problems that are currently intractable for classical computers. For example, in fields like cryptography, materials science, and drug discovery, quantum computers could analyze large datasets and model molecular interactions more efficiently. This could lead to breakthroughs we can’t yet even imagine!
Alex Perez: Fascinating! I’ve also read about the concern surrounding quantum security. How will quantum computing affect data security and encryption methods?
Dr. Clara Holt: Great question. The advent of quantum computing poses a challenge to current encryption methods, particularly public-key cryptography, which is the backbone of secure online interaction. Quantum computers have the potential to break these encryption algorithms very quickly. This is why researchers are working on post-quantum cryptography—new algorithms that are secure against quantum attacks.
Alex Perez: Now, let’s talk about the timelines. When do you foresee quantum computers becoming mainstream, and what does that mean for industries like finance and healthcare?
Dr. clara Holt: we’re in an early stage now, but I expect substantial progress over the next decade. Some experts predict we could see practical quantum applications in the 2030s. For finance, faster algorithms could enable real-time analysis of risk and fraud detection. in healthcare, we could see more effective drug designs and personalized medicine strategies.
Alex perez: That sounds promising! However, there’s also a lot of skepticism around the hype of quantum computing. What would you say to those who are hesitant to invest in this technology?
Dr. Clara Holt: Skepticism is healthy, especially in tech. it’s essential to critically evaluate claims and wait for evidence of practical applications. But I believe that the research and advancements have shown real progress. The key is to foster a balanced view—understand the limitations while recognizing the groundbreaking potential.
Alex Perez: Wise words, Dr. Holt. Lastly, if you had to give one piece of advice to aspiring quantum researchers and enthusiasts, what would it be?
Dr. Clara Holt: Stay curious and open-minded! The field is evolving rapidly, and there’s so much to learn and explore. Collaborate with others, seek out interdisciplinary approaches, and don’t be afraid to challenge the status quo. The next big breakthrough could come from anyone.
Alex Perez: Thank you so much for your insights, Dr. Holt. It’s been enlightening to hear your thoughts on quantum computing and its future.
dr. Clara Holt: Thank you,Alex! It’s been a pleasure discussing the future with you.
Alex Perez: Stay tuned at Time.news as we continue to explore the innovations shaping our world!
