In the interim report, under the vision of ‘realizing a compact city through high-density and three-dimensional complexation in the wangsuk district GTX complex station area’, various details were laid out with the goal of △ Namyangju City’s new downtown Wangsuk △ forming a regional center near Wangsuk Station △ building an integrated public transportation transfer system and space optimization. An implementation strategy was presented.
Mayor joo Gwang-deok emphasized, “For the GTX complex station area special planning area to be successfully promoted, future-oriented planning and execution are essential, and an innovative and sustainable development plan that will lead the trend of the times must be prepared.”
Next, Mayor joo said, “We need to maximize synergy effects by planning complex shopping malls, hotels, convention centers, and complex transfer terminals to strengthen self-sufficiency, rather than simply providing transportation,” adding, “Reflecting Mr. Jeong Yak-yong’s values.” He asked, “Please develop namyangju into a luxury city with its own identity and philosophy.”
An official from the Korea Land and Housing Corporation said, “We will establish an optimal commercialization plan to encourage private participation, prepare a contest plan that can strengthen Dasan Jeong Yak-yong’s historicity and urban competitiveness, and actively collect opinions from Namyangju City.”
Through this service, the city aims to finalize the public offering in 2026 and plans to select the final business operator within 2027. To this end, it plans to continuously consult with relevant organizations to improve the completeness of the project.
