jpnn.comYOUNG – Acting Governor of Central Java Nana Sudjana accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in inaugurating the Batang Integrated Industrial Area (KITB), Friday (26/7).

The 4,300 hectare industrial area that was inaugurated is believed to be able to absorb a lot of workers.

Nana Sudjana said that the realization of KITB was indeed the hope of the Central Java Provincial Government.

The existence of KITB is expected to be a greater investment leverage in Central Java, and aims to further reduce unemployment rates.

“This is good news for Central Java because until now there are still quite a lot of our people who are unemployed and looking for work, (although) our current unemployment has dropped to 4.39 percent. God willing, in the future we will continue to suppress this unemployment to the smallest possible,” said Nana when met after the inauguration.

The construction of KITB was relatively fast because it only took four years.

The first phase of the building has been sold out and has even absorbed 18,190 workers.

To date, there have been 18 companies that have built buildings. Some companies have even started operations. In the next 10 years, KITB is projected to absorb 250,000 workers.
