jpnn.com – Two athletes from Central Java (Jateng) who competed in the semifinals of the Muaythai sport at the XXI PON Aceh-North Sumatra, had to be rushed to the PON XXI Hospital Emergency Room at the Pusdiklat Complex of the dr Zainoel Abidin Aceh Regional Hospital.

The two Muay Thai athletes are Tiara Permana Putri and Irvan Aji Maulana.

Tiara was injured after being hit by an opponent’s punch while competing against the host athlete Aceh. She is currently still being treated at the PON XXI Aceh Hospital.

Meanwhile, Irvan fell after receiving a hard kick to his vital organs.

The incident occurred while competing against Banten athletes. Irvan’s condition is still under observation by doctors at the 21st PON Hospital Emergency Room in Aceh.

“The X-ray showed no fractures for the female athlete. For the male athlete, there were red bruises and the last one was still on ultrasound. I want to go to the hospital again,” said Head of the Central Java Health Service Yunita Dyah Suminar after accompanying the Acting Governor of Central Java Nana Sudjana at the PON XXI Aceh Hospital, Monday (9/9/2024).

Regarding the incident that befell Irvan, the coaching team and officials from Central Java had submitted a protest to the jury and committee shortly after Irvan was rushed to the hospital.

The protests came to a head when the jury decided the match was won by the Banten athlete.
