Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, spoke tonight (Saturday) live on Facebook, for the first time since her husband was attacked in their home. Pelosi thanked the viewers for their support and quoted the song “I have no other country”. “I find in this song a lot of sadness but also a lot of inspiration,” Pelosi said, “We need to unite our country.”

Later, she commented on her husband’s condition and noted that he is facing a long recovery process, “but he will be fine.” According to her, “It’s just so tragic how it happened, but at the same time, we have to be optimistic. He’s surrounded by family, so it’s a wonderful thing.”

Paul Pelosi, 82, was released from a San Francisco hospital earlier this week after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured skull and injuries to his hand and arm. This, after he was hospitalized about six days after the brutal attack in the couple’s home.
