Acclaimed director Nandita Das’ ‘Swigato’ is being screened at the 27th Kerala International Film Festival. Swigato is the inaugural film in the Kaleidoscope section of the fair. Earlier, the film was screened at the World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Asian Premiere at the Busan International Film Festival. The shows are on December 10 and 13. Written and directed by Nandita Das, Swagato is produced by Aplus Entertainment.
The film tells the life story of a food delivery rider who becomes a food delivery rider amid the ongoing covid scare. Kapil Sharma, Shahana Goswami and Tusshar Acharya are playing the lead roles in the film. Kapil Sharma’s character as Manas and Shahana Goswami as his wife, a housewife who starts working to sustain her income, join Swagato, set in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The film captures the lives of ‘ordinary’ people who are invisible and hidden in plain sight. Swaygato is a film that tells the story of sheer struggle and survival.
