Corneille Nangaa, president of the CENI. Ph. ACTUALITE.CF

Corneille Nangaa proposes a break from the electoral process. On behalf of his party (Action for the Dignity of Congo and its people (ADCP), on the sidelines of the commemoration of independence, he severely criticizes the ongoing electoral process and offers his recommendations.

“Given the worrying situation in which the country finds itself, only true national cohesion can save it from sinking. It is therefore imperative that the actors concerned sit around a table, discuss and face these challenges together in order to ward off any apocalyptic perspective and agree on the progress of the country and the way in which the elections should be organized in order to ensure credibility, inclusiveness, transparency and fairness,” he said. Moreover, he proposes a moment of stopping given that according to him: “wisdom requires observing a break in the electoral process, obviously headed in the wrong direction, for its exhaustive evaluation and its objective and consensual”.

And this global reflection on the march of the country should integrate, according to the former president of the CENI, the idea of a development master plan so that “the country stops sailing on sight”.

Nangaa was among the first to be very critical of the conduct of the current electoral process, particularly with regard to the electoral register: “As much as the Budget of 16 billion dollars refers to a powder of perlimpinpin, the register of 46 million voters is a smokescreen,” said the former boss of the electoral center who became president of the political party Action for the Dignity of Congo and its People (ADCP).
