Wanted by the Municipality to recognize the role of the institute

Twenty-five years after the foundation of the Institute of Southern Culture, the Municipality of Naples had a plaque of recognition affixed in via Chiatamone, where the institute is based. “The culture of the South has always been a point of great strength and pride for the whole country – explains the president of the Southern Cultural Institute, Gennaro Famiglietti – and in a historical period as difficult as the one we currently live in, culture is what can save us and help future generations to hope for better times. This is why it must be promoted and pushed in all its forms because it is synonymous with life and freedom ». The Councilor for Heritage of the Municipality of Naples, Alessandra Clemente, also intervened at the posting ceremony: “We need clear points of reference and therefore we strongly wanted that twenty-five years after its birth, the Southern Cultural Institute received this just recognition. Culture is the main road to imagine a better future for the city of Naples ».
