NAPLES – Meetings with authors resume at the Photographic Warehouses on 8 December (from 12) with Sergio Siano, witness, in his long career as a photojournalist, of the most important events in the recent history of the city of Naples.

The whole day is dedicated to raising funds to support the creation of the‘Sergio Siano Archive as well as events organized by the Neapolitan factory. How are they supported? By choosing one of the iconic images made by the author, which have as protagonist, for example, Maradona, Pino Daniele or in general the city of Naples, one of the shots made in his long photographic production.

But be careful, if the profession of reporter dictates the news, Siano’s photos – not just a chronicler tout court – can be considered author’s to the extent that they tell, as they do, soul and pulsations, memories and epochal layers of people and urban conglomerates. . In a word, stories. This is Siano’s cipher: grasping the distinctive sign or vital message both of a passer-by, with whom the author also manages to connect empathically immediately, and of an entire neighborhood revealing it starting from its darkest yet crowded alley as no one would ever be able to imagine.

And how does the author tell you these “stories”? You decide: look at the photo on the cover of the storm on the Naples seafront. Is it the Time.news of a storm, or a photograph from the imagination of Nicola Pugliese? We can bet that “Malacqua” Siano – who grew up in the Spanish Quarters – has read and understood it, that it has remained inside him. But in this shot there is also “El viaje” by Solanas. And much more. The sea, in fact, is everywhere. And Siano did not photograph the wet city, but the sea.

The appointment at the Magazzini is double: at 12 with a good aperitif during which we will talk, in the company of Sergio Siano, of “Naples seen by the sirens“, His latest book (Intra Moenia) and the catalog created for the exhibition”Diego Armando Maradona: social redemption through sport”Curated by Yvonne De Rosa in collaboration with Magazzini Photo (the exhibition is in progress in a property confiscated from the Camorra: the Jambo shopping center and can be visited until 31 December 2021).

It then continues at 3 pm, with a post-lunch coffee break with the author who will answer the questions and curiosities of those present, an opportunity to learn about the many stories behind his long experience and to get closer to the world of photography. Admission is free with the obligation to present the Green Pass or negative buffer.

“I invite everyone for a coffee, a glass of wine, to listen to you and tell you about my intimate photos of Maradona on display at the Jambo, and what’s inside and behind my latest book “Naples seen from the Sirens“», Invites the author from the social network. “I only have two dates to meet you, one is December 8th from Photographic Warehouses in via San Giovanni in Porta 32. The other is on 15 December, from 19 to Intra Moenia Literary Café in Piazza Bellini. On this occasion some of my shots of the volume will be exhibited. I can not wait to see you”.
