The Napoli player played with severe pain in the last Nations League match and is now doubtful for the Cagliari game.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will play Cagliari-Napoli, the first match for Conte’s team after the break for the Nations League.
During Albania-Georgia, the Napoli player suffered a bad knock, which had put his availability for the fourth round of the championship in doubt.
“After taking a hit in the first half, Kvara played with severe pain” confessed Willy Sagnol, the coach of Georgia.
“He wanted to play as much as possible. In the last 15-20 minutes, we needed more movement on the field, so we substituted him.”
In short, Sagnol kept Kvaratskhelia on as long as possible at the request of the Napoli striker, but he was definitely not at his best due to the hit he received.
It will be up to the staff to evaluate his condition upon returning to the city and consider day by day his potential call-up for the match in Sardinia.
However, the Napoli player does not seem to cause strong concern and could start the match: the goal is to field him as a starter only if he is at 100%.
