New Delhi: Narinder Batra has resigned as the president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

He also resigned from the membership of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). In May, Batra was removed from Hockey India’s life membership following the Delhi High Court verdict. Batra headed the national associations and federations as a lifetime member of Hockey India.

The Delhi High Court ruled that life membership was an illegal status. After finding that Hockey India had acted against the National Sports Code, the High Court had appointed a three-member committee to oversee the day-to-day operations.

Investigation is going on against Batra in the case of misappropriation of 35 crore rupees of the association.
