The photo was taken in September
According to Science Alert magazine, a recently sent photo of the Perseverance rover showed a rock that, at first glance, looks like a severed human head. This rock looks like a dried human head, separated from a body and withering in the harsh light of the sun. Rover’s Mastcam-Z camera captured this photo on September 27.
According to Science Alert, the rock looks like a piece of sandstone, no different from other rocks around it. This is not unusual for Mars, as water once flowed here. The magazine has said that this photo is one of the most frightening pictures ever taken by the rover.
