NASA has released a new video comparing the Sun and the Solar System to the size of black holes. The most massive black hole has 66 billion solar masses and is located at a distance of about 10 billion light years from us.

The first black hole shown is J1601+3113 with a mass of about 100,000 solar masses. Thanks to the shadow from the event horizon, it looks twice the size of the Sun. The second of the shown black holes is located in the Circulus galaxy, is comparable in size to the radius of Mercury’s orbit and has 4 million solar masses. The next black hole in the dwarf galaxy M32 is similar in size to the radius of the Earth’s orbit, and its mass is 2.5 million solar masses.

At the center of the Milky Way is the black hole Sagittarius A*, which is already similar in size to the diameter of the Earth’s orbit and weighs about 4.3 million solar masses. Black holes in the galaxy NGC 7727 have a mass of 6.3 million and 154 million solar masses, respectively. The largest black holes with a mass of 2.5 billion, 5.7 billion and 66 billion solar masses are respectively in the Cygnus A, M87 and TON-618 galaxies.
