All countries participating in the International Space Station (ISS) program supported the extension of its operation after 2024. This was reported on the NASA website.

The United States, Japan, Canada and the member states of the European Space Agency (ESA) have said they support the extension of the station until 2030. Russia confirmed that it will support the operation of the ISS until 2028, NASA said.

The ISS was put into orbit in 1998. Astronauts from different countries work on the station, including Russia, the USA, Japan, Canada, Germany, etc. They conduct experiments that could not be carried out on Earth, including space exploration, research in the field of biology , physiology, etc.

Now the crew of the 69th long-term expedition is working on the ISS, consisting of Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopiev (ISS-69 commander), Dmitry Petelin and Andrey Fedyaev, as well as NASA astronauts Francisco Rubio, Stephen Bowen, Warren Hoburg and UAE astronaut Sultan al-Neyadi .

The ISS is scheduled to be deorbited in 2030-2031, NASA said earlier. On April 12, Cosmonautics Day, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov announced the government’s decision to extend the operation of the Russian segment of the ISS until 2028.

Later, he clarified that the construction of the Russian orbital station would be fully completed in 2032. According to Roskosmos, its construction is preliminary estimated at 600 billion rubles.
