The research team used NASA’s Perseverance rover to record various sounds on Mars, including Perseverance and breezes, and then studied the sounds transmitted back to Earth by Perseverance. According to Sylvestre Maurice, an astrophysicist at the University of Toulouse in France, the lead author of the paper, the sound source is transmitted through the atmosphere, and no one else has studied Mars in this field so far.

Maurice explained to the public by listening to a symphony orchestra as an example, that on Earth, both high and low frequencies will be heard at the same time; but on Mars, if you are farther away from the stage, you will hear a significant delay in the high and low frequencies, even if the high and low frequencies are emitted at the same time. , you will still hear the treble before the bass.
