On February 1, 2023, José Ruales, Minister of Public Health, appointed Natalia Álvaro as the new manager of the Baca Ortiz Pediatric Hospital (HPBO), who took office with the commitment to ensure the health of pediatric patients.
“We all do the hospital, hospital management is not from one person, it is from a committed team of which I have been a part in other stages of my life. I know of your work and affection for pediatric health, ”said the manager during her inauguration speech.
For his part, the Minister stressed that this third-level care home should continue to be a benchmark and emblem in pediatric health in the country. For this reason, he asked for effort and responsibility from each of the hospital officials and the new management that he is starting.
In addition, he highlighted the profile and professional experience of the new authority whose objective is to meet the needs of internal and external users, review critical issues and implement improvement actions.
Natalia Álvaro stands out for her management in front of the National Directorate of Hospitals of the Ministry of Public Health. Likewise, she worked in the Zonal Coordination 9 – Health as responsible for the process of Provision of Services and in the Ministry of Health of the Municipality of Quito. She is a Doctor of Medicine from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador and has a Master’s Degree in Applied Public Management.
The Zonal 9 – Health coordinator, Mauricio Valencia, was present at the event, as well as the medical, nursing and administrative leaders of each of the services that the health home has.
