Snohomish County Sports Commission Promotes Nathan Caferro too Lead Event expansion

The Snohomish County Sports Commission has appointed Nathan Caferro as its new Sports Events Manager, signaling a strategic move to bolster the region’s growing sports tourism sector. Caferro initially joined the commission in June 2022 as a Sports Event Coordinator. His dedication was formally recognized in April 2023 when he was named a Sports ETA Rising Star.
“Nathan’s leadership and commitment to providing excellent event services has helped us to expand our work with the local sports organizations and build better partnerships within the communities,” stated Tammy Dunn, executive director of the Snohomish County Sports Commission. “Hosting the Seattle Handball Cup for the first time in March 2025 is one example of Nathan’s ability to elevate sporting events Snohomish County hosts.”
Driving Success and Economic Impact
Caferro’s impact extends beyond program progress. His work directly contributed to several award-winning events. The 2024 USA Softball Class B Western Nationals, supported by Caferro’s efforts, led to Seattle Metro JO receiving the prestigious James Farrell Award of Excellence for hosting three USA Softball National Championships in 2024.
Furthermore, the Snohomish United Bigfoot Soccer Tournament earned the Champions of Economic Impact award from Sports Destination Management in both 2022 and 2024, demonstrating the tournament’s significant contribution to the local economy. Caferro has also consistently collaborated with the Snohomish youth Soccer Club on their annual youth soccer tournament for the past three years.
