National Cinema Day | Movie ticket for Rs 75; Change in National Film Day; New date is known – News18 Malayalam

National Cinema Day, which was to be held on September 16 across the country, has been postponed to September 23. On the 3rd of this month, National Cinema Day was celebrated in the United States, giving moviegoers a chance to watch movies at very low prices. Following this, the Multiplex Association of India has similarly declared National Cinema Day in India. It was initially announced that it would be on September 16. It was also informed that Cinema Day was announced as a token of gratitude to the audience for getting business back to the multiplexes after the pandemic.

It has also been announced that movie tickets will be offered at Rs 75 across 4,000 screens in multiplexes including PVR, Inox, Cinepolis, Carnival and Delight on Cinema Day.

The Multiplex Association of India said in a statement that the National Cinema Day has been postponed to September 23 with a view to increase participation on the request of stakeholders. MAI also informed that the audience can watch the movie on that day at the rate of Rs 75.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the National Film Day, which was to be celebrated on September 16, has been postponed to September 23 due to the success of the recently released big budget film Brahmastra. Box office figures show that the film, which hit the theaters on September 9, has already collected around 200 crores.

Brahmastra also has the distinction of taking over a Bollywood film after a long time. Reports suggest that immediate sale of tickets at Rs 75 will affect Brahmastra’s collection and theater owners have requested to shift National Cinema Day to another day so as not to affect the performance of Brahmastra.
