The national external evaluation of Bulgarian language and literature in the 10th grade remains on June 10, announced the press center of the Ministry of Education and Culture. However, it is planned to be held at a later start time due to the scheduled elections for the national and European Parliament on June 9. The exam for tenth graders will start at 11:00 a.m. (instead of the originally scheduled start of 8:00 a.m.) so that schools with elective sections can easily organize its conduct.
An order of the Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov has been prepared for the amendment, which has been published for public discussion.
The Ministry of Education and Culture recalls that the dates of the external evaluations were determined by an order that passed all stages of public discussion at the beginning of September 2023. After the scheduling of the extraordinary parliamentary elections, as well as those for the European Parliament, an operational discussion was held with all regional administrations as a matter of urgency of education, to establish an organization and, despite the vote, not to force a change in the originally fixed date.
There is another order from the Minister of Education and Science to declare June 10 non-school for all other students in schools with elective sections.
Because of the scheduled elections, the Ministry of Education and Culture offers new dates for some regional and national rounds of Olympiads and competitions. The mathematics competition for 4th grade students “Mathematics for Everyone” will be held on June 1. The national round of “Laboratory of Art” will be in the period June 1-3 in Burgas. The competition “Key competences in natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) will be from June 29 to 30 in Silistra.
