Mexico.- elements of the National Guard (GN) located a clandestine outlet and seized two vehicles carrying containers with fuel, allegedly extracted illegally.

In a statement it was detailed that, when carrying out security and crime prevention patrols in the vicinity of the Tuxpan-Tula polyduct, of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), located in the Miravalle neighborhood of the municipality of Tlalhuelilpan, national guards observed a group of people who presumably they were extracting hydrocarbons.

When the elements approached the place, the individuals fled in different directions, leaving two vans abandoned, for which reason the suspects were followed up, without obtaining positive results.

National Guard personnel inspected the area where the subjects were there and found a hose, which was connected to a Pemex pipeline that was approximately 170 meters away.

When reviewing the vehicles, one with a report of theft, they located containers loaded with hydrocarbons, for which they notified Pemex specialists to disable the clandestine takeover in order to avoid risks to the population and damage to the ecosystem.

The vehicles with the containers and the fuel were insured and made available to the Federal Public Ministry Agency to continue the corresponding investigations.
