NATIONAL HISTORY CARRIER UNION ANNOUNCES DUE TO LACK OF RESPONSES FROM CONFERENCE – RCR Peru

RCR, October 13, 2024.- Julio Campos, the spokesperson of the Transport Association, announced that they will meet with various unions and organizations to call a national strike, after a lack of answers from the Congress after the mobilizations on Thursday and Friday.

“Thursday we stayed until half past eleven at night in the conference, because an open dialogue was opened, which was our platform for the struggle. We call for the repeal of law 32108, regarding urban terrorism. Both the executive and the legislation made us wait,” he said through the Peru 2030 program in RCR.

Because of this disappointment, he indicated that the Transport Association has decided to hold an assembly to coordinate a national mobilization with other sectors, with the objective of demanding the right to life and security.

“We will have an extraordinary assembly on Wednesday or Thursday of this week to decide and announce what we are going to do, whether it be a national mobilization, a strike or an indefinite strike,” he announced.

Finally, Campos rejected the violence carried out by the police during the protests, but he thanked the support of various federations, organizations and citizens who joined the fight against crime.

“It was a peaceful and strong march, but they have really turned their backs on our voice to protect the right to life and the security of citizens,” he concluded.
