National: Jean-Guy Wallemme, new coach of Paris 13 Atletico

by time news

A week after its historic rise in National, Paris 13 Atletico has its new coach. Following the departure of Fabien Valeri for Chamby (N2), the leaders received many CVs. They quickly came up with a shortlist of three names. It was Jean-Guy Wallemme, 54, who was chosen this Saturday. He signed for a year.

“We chose Jean-Guy Wallemme for his humble and hard-working profile which corresponds to the image of the club, explains the president Frédéric Pereira. Jean-Guy Wallemme is a very experienced trainer, who needs no introduction. He knows the region, the division, but also the higher divisions and much more… He has won titles and obtained results everywhere he has been. I am convinced that he is the man who will allow us, all together, to take up the challenge of National 1!”

For Wallemme, “it’s an exciting project”

A popular club, well anchored in the 13th arrondissement, Paris 13 Atletico was looking for a coach to match its values and DNA. He found it with the emblematic former captain of Lens. After Racing (2002-2004) and Paris FC (2007-2008), Wallemme will therefore experience his third experience in the Paris region. After having trained for many years in L1 (Lens, Auxerre), and abroad (Algeria, selections from Congo and Niger), he has led Chartres and Fréjus – Saint-Raphaël (N2) in recent seasons.

“I’m happy to be back at the next level,” says Wallemme. I thank the club for its trust. It’s an exciting project, but it requires a lot of work, this club has a real identity, real values. We will have to keep this desire and this osmosis which have been his strength this season. Football is not just a question of means, we will try to be inventive in recruitment. »
