Libreville, August 27, 2024 (AGP) – Decided by the Council of Ministers on January 22, the first edition of the National Liberation Day will be celebrated this Friday, August 30 in Libreville, according to the schedule established for this purpose.
According to the said program, the day of Thursday, August 29, will be devoted to the inauguration, from 1 p.m., of Fly Gabon (Libreville Air Base 01). Then, at 2:45 p.m., the inauguration of the Liberation Stele (Botanical Garden) is planned. At 3:45 p.m.: Inauguration of the airport bypass road / Taxi stand (Camp de Gaulle), At 4:30 p.m.: Allocation of 509 plots (Igoumié); 5:30 p.m.: Baptism of the Ferry (Port Owendo); 6:30 p.m.: Activities of the Women Personnel of the Defense Forces.
On Friday, August 30, activities will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the military and civil parade at the esplanade of the Hassan II mosque. At 3:00 p.m.: the CTRI Football match against Parliamentarians and the government (Sino-Gabonese Friendship Stadium); 7:00 p.m.: a Banquet with performances by artists (Palais Rénovation); Popular Concert (Seaside Gardens in front of the Palais Rénovation); 10:00 p.m.: Fireworks (Seaside Gardens in front of the Palais Rénovation). End of ceremonies.
A few days before the national liberation day, the Gabonese people are impatiently awaiting the festivities of this historic date.
This commemoration comes a few days after the celebration of the 64th anniversary of Gabon’s accession to Independence, on August 17.
