In the Library of Foreign Literature named after. M.I.Rudomino hosted an evening dedicated to the Day of National Music of Azerbaijan in Moscow.
As Day.Az reports with reference to AZERTAC, at the event organized by the Russian representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, students of the Children’s Music School named after. Kara Karaeva of the city of Moscow. The host of the evening was musicologist, doctor of art history, chairman of the Association of Contemporary Music Rauf Farkhadov.
Opening the evening, Head of the Humanitarian Programs Department of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Representative Office in the Russian Federation Tamila Akhmedovasaid that every year on September 18, National Music Day is widely celebrated in Azerbaijan. This date is associated with the birthday of two great musicians of our country – Uzeyir Hajibeyli and Muslim Magomayev, the founders of Azerbaijani classical music.
She noted that this year, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening after restoration of the house-museum of Uzeyir Hajibeyli in Shusha. This is a great holiday for all musicians.
“The national music of Azerbaijan is the work of outstanding composers – representatives of the Azerbaijani school of composition, who not only preserved the traditions of national music, but also made an invaluable contribution to world culture. The national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, said: “Even in my youth, I felt the power contained in music. Without it people are poor. Music immensely enriches, straightens souls, and gives them extraordinary strength. If a person’s life is illuminated by music, he comes to life, like dry land on which blessed rain has fallen,” considering that one of the main conditions for uplifting the national spirit is the native language and musical culture,” said a representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
T. Akhmedova especially emphasized that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, under the leadership of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, pays great attention to preserving the national culture of our people: “The Foundation supports not only musicians of the older generation, but also young talents who go to foreign countries to study.” .

Deputy Director of the Children’s Music School named after. Kara Karaeva Tatiana Galchinova thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for supporting young talents. “Music unites, and we are glad that our students take part in this event. Azerbaijani music is recognizable and memorable if heard once. School students are happy to perform the music of Azerbaijani composers,” noted T. Galchinova.
