Chennai: Tamil Nadu Police officers who won medals and trophies in the 41st All India Police Equestrian Competition held in Madhya Pradesh met Chief Minister M.K.Stalin and congratulated them.

Tamil Nadu Government issued a press release yesterday: The 41st All India Police Equestrian Championship and Equestrian Police competitions were held at the BSF Academy in Deccanpur, Madhya Pradesh from November 14 to 26. 18 teams from Central Armed Forces and State Police participated in the competition.

Senior Constable Manikandan of Tamil Nadu Police won 2 gold medals, Lala PK Dey, Siroki Challenge trophies and a silver medal in these competitions. Assistant Inspector Krishnamurthy, Senior Constables Manikandan, Maheshwaran and Sukanya won Gold Medal, Senior Constable Sukanya won Gold Medal, DGP Haryana Trophy and Horse Keepers Tamilmani and Rajaganapathy won Bronze Medals.

Equestrian team was formed in 2018 for the first time in the history of Chennai Metropolitan Police Cavalry. This is the 3rd time that the Tamil Nadu Police Equestrian Team is participating in the All India Police Equestrian Championships. The Tamil Nadu Police Department team won medals and trophies and stood 5th in the overall medals tally.

In this case, the police department who won medals in these competitions met Chief Minister M.K.Stalin yesterday and congratulated them at the Chief Secretariat. In this competition, gold medal winners will be given Rs. 5 lakh, silver medal winners will be given Rs. 3 lakh and bronze medal winners will be given Rs. 2 lakh as prize money by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

On the occasion, Home Secretary Panindra Reddy, DGP Sailendrababu, Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal, Police Training College President Arun, Tiruvallikeni Deputy Commissioner of Police Deshmukh Shekhar Sanjay and others were present.
