The People Power Party is launching a campaign to sweep up banners including ‘accomplices in the civil war’ hung across the country. The People Power Party is expected to take legal action through the party’s legal advisory committee after conducting a full investigation at the party level.

Park Soo-min, floor spokesperson of the People Power Party, met with reporters at the National Assembly that day and said, “There are banners posted all over the country about issues that have not been legally confirmed, issues that should not be made public, and issues that violate the law, such as treason and accomplices in treason.”

He continued, “Because it was announced based on unconfirmed facts, legal action is impossible (avoidable),” and “In order to prepare well, we plan to complete the full investigation within this week.”

Previously, the National Election Commission faced criticism for double standards by allowing a banner that described People Power Party members as ‘accomplices in the rebellion’ and giving an authoritative interpretation that took issue with a banner that said ‘Lee Jae-myung is not allowed.’

Afterwards, when the People Power Party strongly protested, they changed their position to ‘hold the decision’, and eventually decided to allow all related banner postings.
