National Sports Day was celebrated at Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education, Tiruchendur. In view of this, an inter-class volleyball competition was held. The competition was inaugurated by the principal of the college, Samraj. 7 teams each participated in the men’s category and 5 teams each participated in the women’s category. Men’s B.P.Ed. 2nd year students and female category B.P.Ed. 2nd year students also won.
Later, the awarding ceremony was held at the Padma Shri Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar Indoor Stadium. Student Kanishkar gave the welcome speech. Student Sundarraj delivered the introductory speech. Former Indian go-go athlete, Thoothukudi Southern Railway technician Kannan attended the function as special guest and gave away prizes to the students who won the competition. Student Divya Bharti presented a memento to the special guest.
Arrangements were made by professors Nelson Durai, Siva, students and volleyball players. At the end, student Ranjithkumaran gave vote of thanks.
