Thiruvananthapuram: The 48-hour national strike called by the trade unions under the slogan “Save the country, save the people” has begun. The strike will last till 12 tomorrow night. Kerala too will come to a standstill in the struggle of 22 trade unions.

The vehicle does not run. Debt markets will be completely closed. Farmers ‘and agricultural workers’ unions, central state service organizations, teachers ‘unions, BSNL, LIC, bank employees’ unions and port workers are participating in the strike.

Milk, newspaper, hospital, ambulance and foreign tourist travel were excluded. The striking workers will line up at the strike centers. There will be no less than 25 strike centers in each district. More than 5,000 workers will attend the center full time in the capital. The general meeting will be held at 11 a.m. today at CITU. General Secretary Elamaram Kareem MP Will be inaugurated. INTUC State President R. Chandrasekharan will preside over the function.
