In the debut of its new coach, Giannis Tauseanis, the National Under-21 team delivered an excellent performance, winning 3-0 against the Faroe Islands at the Klaksvik stadium, in their penultimate match in the 7th qualifying group of EURO 2025. The National Team started the match better and took the lead in the 13th minute when Apostolopoulos found Kourfalidis with an excellent cross, who sent the ball into Petersen’s net with a shot from the penalty area. Nine minutes later (22′), Kourfalidis turned from scorer to “creator” as he delivered a corner kick from which Kostis scored with a close-range header, giving the National Team a two-goal advantage. Both players scored their first goals in the EURO 2025 qualifiers. Coach Tauseanis’s players could have extended their lead before the end of the first half, but Koutsias’s close-range shot after a cross from Zouglis went just wide.
