Title: National Youth Volunteer Scheme offers young individuals an opportunity for social development

Date: [Current Date]

The central government has implemented a new scheme called the ‘National Service Volunteer’ (NSV), which aims to provide young individuals with a chance to contribute to social development as volunteers in their respective areas. This initiative offers the youth an opportunity to make a difference and work towards the betterment of society.

Under the National Youth Volunteer scheme, volunteers, also known as the ‘National Youth Corps’ (NYC), will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs.5000. This financial support acknowledges their dedication and contribution to the program.

Candidates aged between 18 to 29 years are eligible to join this initiative. Additionally, individuals who have completed their graduation and possess technical skills will be given priority during the selection process. The central government selects 12,000 volunteers each year, who are then posted to constituency level areas in their respective states to carry out their responsibilities.

Managed by the ‘Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan,’ an organization under the Union Department of Youth and Sports, the National Youth Volunteer Scheme has been operational since 2011. Volunteers are given the opportunity to serve for a maximum period of two years, after which they receive the monthly honorarium.

Moreover, the scheme encourages candidates to undergo four weeks of training before commencing their volunteer work. This training equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to social development.

When it comes to eligibility, applicants must have completed at least the 10th standard of education. Preference is given to candidates with technical skills and experience in using Android phones and various applications.

However, it should be noted that full-time college students are not eligible to participate in this program. These students can explore alternative opportunities such as joining the National Cadet Corps (NCC) or the National Service Scheme (NSS) programs within their educational institutions.

Selected volunteers will play a crucial role in raising awareness about social issues within their respective communities. They will be responsible for informing people about ongoing welfare schemes implemented by the central government. Additionally, the volunteers will organize programs related to Skill India, Clean India, Fit India, and Asadika Amrit Call, as well as promote plastic-free initiatives.

To apply for the National Youth Volunteer Scheme, interested individuals can submit their applications online. Notifications for recruitment will be issued by the respective District Collectors, and advertisements will be published in leading newspapers of the area. There is no application fee required.

Applicants should prepare the following documents to complete their application:
– Photograph
– Aadhaar Card
– 10th Class Marks List
– Caste Certificate (SC, ST, OBC)
– Certificates of Higher Educational Qualification (if applicable)
– Address Proof (Voter ID Card, Aadhaar Card/Driving License/Ration Card)

The National Youth Volunteer Scheme aims to empower the youth and encourage their active participation in social development. Through their voluntary service, these young individuals will contribute to creating a more aware and inclusive society.
