Two days later the Republic of Moldova host Malta, hoping for a strong start against an opponent they have lost just once in their last eight games.

How the 2024/25 Nations League D League works
League D contains six teams, divided into two groups of three. Everyone will face each other, with home and away games in September, October and November 2024. The final ranking of each determines what happens next:
1st Promoted to League C for the 2026/27 edition.
2nd Faces the two best fourth-placed teams in League C in the promotion/relegation play-off, with home and away games. The winner will compete in League C in 2026/27 while the losers will compete in League D.
3rd Remains in League D for 2026/27.
