by time news

The draw for the semi-finals of the League of Nations gave birth on Wednesday to duels Netherlands – Croatia and Spain – Italy, scheduled for June in Rotterdam and Enschede.

The Dutch, hosts of this “Final 4”, will open the ball in Rotterdam on June 14 against the Croats, before Spain-Italy the next day in Enschede. Spain-Italy was already the poster for the last semi-final of the event, in Milan in October 2021, with a victory for La Roja (2-1). The small final will take place on Sunday June 18 in Enschede (3:00 p.m.), before the final scheduled in Rotterdam (8:45 p.m.) on the same day.

Nations League titleholders France were eliminated in the group stage, finishing behind Croatia and Denmark with just one win from six games. This UEFA event, which is celebrating its third edition, was created in 2018 to give new life to the traditional friendly matches of national teams.

It offers an honorary trophy to the winner and will allow three teams to be drafted for Euro-2024 after play-offs, organized at the end of the usual qualification phase.
