Union Education Minister informed that 9.30 lakh children have dropped out of primary school across India. He also said that a survey is being conducted on school dropouts.

In India, the state governments are currently taking various steps to implement the new education policy. The new education policy aims to reduce student dropout in school and encourage them to return to education. The minister said that around 9.30 lakh children have stopped their studies across the country.
In a written reply to a question raised in the Lok Sabha on school dropout, the Union Minister of State for Education said that a survey is currently being conducted in all states and Union Territories in India about students who have dropped out of school.

According to it, a total of 9.30 lakh students, 5.03 lakh boys and 4.27 lakh girls, have suspended their primary school studies. Out of this maximum 3.96 children have stopped education in Uttar Pradesh. The minister also said that efforts are being made to re-admit the students to school after collecting their details.
