Native Instruments has launched Maschine 3.7, a major free software update introducing creative generative sequencing tools like a random note generator and Euclidean sequencer, alongside three new expansions celebrating the company’s 30th anniversary.
Software beat-making and production platform Maschine received a major free update for version 3 users this week. For users who questioned whether the platform would continue to evolve, the release marks one of the biggest content drops in Maschine’s history.

Random Generators and Euclidean Rhythms Come to Maschine 3.7
Built to pull producers away from empty arrangement grids, the software update introduces three creative sequencing functions designed to generate grooves dynamically. The addition brings probability-based sequencing long familiar to users of modular gear or alternative grooveboxes directly into the software environment.
- Random Note Generator: Allows producers to set odds and let Maschine write the notes automatically, starting from an algorithmic idea rather than a blank workspace.
- Euclidean Sequencer: Enables users to dial in steps, fills, and rotation to build complex rhythmic patterns that defy conventional manual drawing, complete with a live mode that updates parameters in real time while loops play.
- Note Event (Chance): Assigns a probability value to every individual note, prompting the software to re-roll the pattern on each loop to keep rhythms breathing until the user locks in a preferred take.
While the software update is currently live for desktop users, support for Maschine 3.7 on the standalone hardware instrument Maschine+ is slated to arrive soon.
Thirty, Paris Heat, and Rage Circuit Expand the Sound Library
Alongside the software tools, Native Instruments is marking three decades of history with three distinct expansion packs. Each pack functions independently inside any Digital Audio Workstation and includes curated construction kits, custom FX chains, drum kits, and presets for software instruments including Massive, Monark, and Prism.
- Thirty ($30 / €30): A genre-spanning 30th-anniversary collection built entirely by resampling and reassembling highlights from Native Instruments’ own back catalogue, pulling sound design gems from Reaktor, Spotlight Series, Play Series, and Massive X across 30 Maschine kits, 89 loops, 291 drum samples, and 85 one-shots.
- Paris Heat ($49 / €49): A tribute to late-90s and 2000s Paris club culture, channeling four-on-the-floor punch, resonant filters, and rising-filter euphoria across 40 Maschine kits, 108 loops, 314 drum samples, and 127 one-shots.
- Rage Circuit ($49 / €49): A futuristic hypertrap collection built in collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Snipe Young, featuring distorted synths, heavy 808s, aggressive drums, hyper-digital leads, and glitches across 41 Maschine kits, 291 loops, 375 drum samples, and 37 one-shots.
Milestone Celebrations and Community Reception
Company leadership emphasized the significance of the simultaneous software and content release against the backdrop of the brand’s history.

“30 years is a moment worth celebrating. This milestone couldn’t be reached without the producers and musicians who took NI’s instruments and made history with them. Maschine 3.7 gives those producers and musicians new ways to write, sequence and perform, and with Thirty, Paris Heat and Rage Circuit arriving together, this is one of the biggest weeks for Maschine sound content we’ve ever had.”
