Moscow revealed that “the intelligence services of a number of NATO countries and Ukraine are preparing to use chemical weapons in Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria.”

Russian military intelligence revealed, in a statement, “that according to the information received by the agency, the leadership of the United States and Britain pays special attention to undermining Russia’s authority in the countries of the Global South.”

The statement continued: “The intelligence services in a number of NATO countries and Ukraine, along with the terrorist groups operating in northern Syria in Idlib Governorate, are carrying out a plan that includes fabricating a scene that can be exported to the media as the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian army and Russian military units in the search and rescue area.” And then launched a campaign to discredit Damascus and Moscow in the United Nations and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.”

According to a statement by Russian foreign intelligence, “It is planned to involve the non-governmental organization ‘White Helmets’, which has become ‘famous’ on Syrian soil for doing dirty work for the British intelligence services.” Its activists will record the so-called “consequences of the incident on video, and send an appeal in this regard to international organizations, in addition to alleged testimonies from civilians, and blame Syria and Russia for what happened.”

According to the statement, “The plan includes the militants dropping a chlorine bomb container from a drone during strikes by the Russian Armed Forces and the Russian Aerospace Forces on the sites of terrorist groups in the Idlib de-escalation zone, as the areas of eastern Idlib are the most likely place for provocation.”
