The new NATO center of excellence devoted to space operations and threat analysis will be set up in Toulouse.

Next to the future space command building under construction in Toulouse, another building will come out of the ground in 2025, not far from Cnes, the National Center for Space Studies. The new “NATO center of excellence” devoted to space operations will be set up within this hub, which brings together scientific, industrial and military skills. The Atlantic Alliance officially granted its accreditation at the last summit in Vilnius, putting an end to several months of discussion. Germany was also a candidate. But France won. The new center of excellence will have the mission of feeding the doctrinal reflections of Western armies and their analyzes of space threats. It was high time for the allies to agree their perceptions.
