The aim of the training is to improve the skills of unit personnel, neutralizing unexploded ordnance, as well as the search, identification, if necessary, extraction, transportation and ultimate destruction of unexploded ordnance.

The main task of the divers in the training is to clear the harbors and the approaching shipping lanes so that they are safe for daily use and do not create any kind of danger.

Soldiers from the armed forces of the United States, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Germany are taking part in the exercise. Latvia is represented in the military exercises by the Naval Minesweeper Squadron diver team, the Mine Warfare Tactical Support Center, the Diver School of the Training Command and the specialists of the 1st Regional Support Center of the Security Command.

The liberation of the Baltic Sea from historical explosive objects is part of the common tasks of the Naval Forces of the Baltic States. The first training of this type was organized in 2014.

Training is organized annually by one of the three Baltic states on a rotational basis. This year, the training is organized by Latvia. Next year, the country leading the study will be Lithuania.
