It is important that the city’s infrastructure continues to develop, where proper investments of European Union funds and other financial sources play a major role , as well as reduced bureaucratic requirements,” Siliņa added.
Agency LETA, referring to the information of the Ministry of Defense, wrote in 2020 that according to the plans, the Liepāja military base will be located on an area of 35 hectares.
In 2016, the Ministry of Defense presented the government with a report on the development of the planned military base in Liepāja, Karosta. It is planned that all the structures of the armed forces stationed in this city would be concentrated in the base.
