Natoli Case: Enrico Costa Attacks the CSM, “It Overrides the Law”

by time news

Azione MP Enrico Costa has raised controversy against the Higher Council of the Judiciary (CSM) over the possible suspension of Rosanna Natoli, a center-right lay councilor, investigated for having revealed secrets of the council chamber during a meeting with a judge under disciplinary proceedings. Costa criticized the CSM on X, accusing it of wanting to bypass the law that establishes that the simple registration in the register of suspects cannot determine prejudicial effects of a civil or administrative nature.

The case is set to be discussed in the Presidency Committee of the CSM, where the legal prerequisites for a possible intervention against Natoli, currently under investigation by the Rome Prosecutor’s Office, are being assessed. The issue, as reported by Dubbio, is complex: on the one hand, Costa maintains that the law does not justify the action of the CSM; on the other, the CSM’s Massimario Office has highlighted that it is not forbidden to use circumstantial evidence independently in civil or administrative proceedings, even if linked to registration in the register of suspects.

The story, which moves on the edge of legality and legal interpretations, continues to hold sway, foreshadowing a clash between politics and the judiciary that could have significant repercussions on the future of the Italian judicial system.
