After coal, hydrogen! Twenty years after the final closure of the last well still in operation, could the Lorraine mining area begin to dream of a second life? An exceptional deposit of natural or native hydrogen in its subsoil gives it the possibility of doing so. If the estimates of the researchers behind this discovery are confirmed, the region could well become the world’s largest reservoir of this gas.
