Most of the Russian people live in the Ural Mountains, which have numerous caves, crevices, and underground rivers and precious minerals.

The Urals, a 2,500 km long mountain range, is divided between Russia and Kazakhstan. Along the Ural River, the natural border between the continents of Europe and Asia, and one of the oldest mountain ranges on Earth. It is also considered to be the world’s largest uninterrupted lowland area. From north to south, the Ural Mountains run from the cold arctic tundra to the deserts of the Caspian Sea.

The mountain range is divided into four well-differentiated sections, the cold-covered polar section called tundra, the highest peak of Narodnaya in the north, the Urals in the middle, a mineral-rich region, and many parallel high ridges in the south.
